alp-data is the first piece of shared infrastructure for Animal Language Processing (ALP), the approach that uses AI to study animal communication at scale. You can create discussion topics under this forum category to share feedback, contribution ideas, help/feature requests, etc. Please use tags (i.e. “feedback”, “troubleshooting”, “contribution”) to identify your needs.
Note
alp-data is an open-source Python package that gives unified access to 35+ bioacoustic datasets (birds, marine mammals, primates, insects, anurans, and multi-taxon benchmarks) through a single interface. The package is built on the data tools that ESP uses internally to train and evaluate its models.
alp-data compiles and unifies access to these datasets — it doesn’t create or own them. Per-dataset license and provenance metadata are available here.
alp-data is licensed under the MIT License - a short and simple permissive license with conditions only requiring preservation of copyright and license notices. Click here for more information.
